Do you own a recreational vehicle that takes you and your family somewhere peaceful? Camping and fishing is one way of spending quality family time. Aside from driving your family there you as well don’t have to worry of where to stay just because you can take everything you could in your RV. Except the whole house content of course. The good thing these days is that companies (banks, credit unions and other financial institutions) offer loans to people who could not afford to buy things from their own resource. We benefit from that when we bought our first car. That took lesser time investing on something that we really need as a family.

There are loads of things that I miss about home. It is not just the company that I needed but a good and friendly environment too that would at least help me cope with what I am feeling. I can’t go out to do what I supposed to do here and sure my girl feels the same way too. She is fussy at times and I understand that she just needed to go out somewhere she could see some difference. When we’re in church or at park or at shopping centre she obviously is over the moon. The time she was in the Philippines, she cannot even sit down for a minute to be with the computer just because she was too occupied. Loads of kids are coming over to play with her and many people were very inquisitive asking her questions. That is because she speaks English and they found it really amazing.

Would you believe that I wasn’t even speaking English to her when there were peeps around (I don’t want them to think that I am something, you know?). I ask or say things in my dialect and she responded in English. There was once that I asked her playmate to get me a stick because she was naughty, amazingly, she responded “ayaw ba”…My father and I laughed to amusement that she was learning.

I miss many things but when I think how hard life is there at times, I think it’s better to stay here away from problem and see what I can do to solve them.

Be assured. That is what many people are doing now. Loads of incidences have been happening worldwide, which until now is still on the process of recovering. Talk about Haiti earthquake. This one is enormous and I am hoping and praying for the victims that they may be able to move on soon.

There was a sigh of relief when the big freeze finally defrosted, however the after math of it has affected other areas that needed resolution the soonest. It was just a month ago that people in other areas spent their Christmas out of their own home because of floods. I suppose they are not over it, yet. They should be glad however because of their insurance that would be assessing the damage and pay them for that. Still, I considered lucky than those victims of flood and typhoon back home. It is so sad that once you loss something back home e.g. house, vehicle or even life, nothing would be reimbursed because we do not have insurances. Poverty is one reason, as I know insurances there exist. I worked there a few years ago, at least for a little while. I gave people insurance quote, life insurance primarily. But who’s willing to pay for something that you do not want to happen? They barely have food to eat.

I am saying that it is good to be insured, that is also our future investment. We do have social insurances while employed and I am continuing mine voluntarily. I just hope I will be able to meet up with my monthly contributions.

We were worried when the BIG FREEZE came. It had cost a lot of damages on everyone. We first felt the danger after being stuck for 7 hours on the road. There wasn’t any access to anywhere, even emergency services were paralysed. Can you imagine being on a situation that needed immediate intervention but nobody could do anything? There were people who fell really bad on the road, and there’s nothing they could do but wait or attend the hospital themselves whenever there is a clear chance. However, it is such an amazing feeling to witness the snow fall. The entire surrounding looked awesome (black & white) and it felt great walking on a thick snow. Nobody back home would argue on this matter. Having to feel the snow on your hands is just one in a million opportunity for some. We had it last year but this year took long for it to clear out. And I wonder if we would have the same next year again.

We’re in big trouble. When we just moved in here, there was this standing light with breakable shades. It was actually broken and I guess the previous tenants just glued them. Both of them were broken so when the little girl shook the lamp a bit, the glasses shattered. We’ve been to many lighting emporiums but couldn’t find the right replacement. We already told the landlord, and because they assessed the damaged that previous tenants had before we moved in, they definitely know that the particular one won’t last.

Just recently, I did some test repainting on bathroom walls. They looked disgusting before. I don’t know if those people cared of cleaning them. We spent time on cleaning, brushing and removing those streaks. However, some paint came off so I decided to repaint just those spots. There are as well other areas in the living room and bedrooms. As I cannot stand looking at them, I tried scrubbing a little. As usual, they looked clean with some bits of paints came off. When SIL came to visit she found some changes. Or was it because of the lights that were a bit deemed that time? I am telling you, lighting fixtures sometimes make difference to the ambience of the room. That is why I am thinking that maybe when we get a chance to purchase our own house, that’s the first thin aside from other decorations that I will invest on.

My girl always gets special presents from her godparents. At first on her baptism, she got silver grooming set and a silver frame which is displayed in the living room. I still keep the grooming set though and think of only giving it to her when she knows how to take care of it. Then her godmother gave her a silver keepsake box the following year on her birthday. I found it really unique and I am using it to store her grooming set. It looks very lovely. She is very lucky that her Ninang gave her those precious gifts that I think she will reminisce and enjoy using in the future.

Well, she got the third one on Christmas. I am telling you, it’s the most special. She got a sterling silver necklace which to me is priceless. It may not be made of diamonds but it was the thought that counts. It looks lovely on her and I cannot afford her to destroy it any soon. As usual, I kept it in her keepsake box. Sure she will thank me when the right time comes.

The new campaign that TV ads is into now persuading smokers to stop smoking. I guess this isn’t new hence; advertisers back always have this warning at each end of the ads that smoking is dangerous to a smoker’s health. However, I find this country responsible with implementing strict rules to teenagers (minors) by asking age card just to prove that they are permitted to decide on their own, which as well applies to alcohol. Unfortunately, I could still see those age groups still smoking. Also, their cigars here are locked-up in a safe place where only staff has access to it, not the public.

If only my people back home are disciplined enough in this matter, I wouldn’t be worried. My father is a smoker and so as my elder brother. I am lucky with hubby because he isn’t. I know someone who smokes occasionally and only smoke cigar that I guess quite distinctive. He must have got it somewhere and only he knows. I knew some a cigars online where you could choose the ONE that matches your taste. More, there is less hassle buying it hence, it can be delivered straight to you.

Have you been this lazy that you couldn’t get up from bed until 3PM? I was shivering from hunger just moments ago because I hadn’t breakfast and lunch. We couldn’t get up so early.The weather is so comforting, that we didn’t want to get out of bed. I is extremely cold and that adds up to our laziness. I can’t imagine the hunger. You can just imagine me eating just anything I see edible. I supposed this shouldn’t happen again. If I were at home then it shouldn’t have come this far/long. I have given the girl her breakfast while watching her programs on TV in bed. I went back to sleep as for the whole night I was just so fussy. I went to sleep at around 6am so you could just understand why I was that so grumpy.

Anyway, I hope everybody a very nice day ahead.

There is nothing in this world that I want but happiness, for my family and the people around me. Everything goes with being happy. I am contented with what I have so far and sure if we would be given a chance, a simple brand new house for my family back home on our own plot would be my wish in the coming years. I know it would be impossible for hubby and me to own a house any time sooner in this country; however, we are keeping our fingers cross that would happen. It would be a lot better and easier for us to choose fittings and decorations of our taste.

We asked the landlord to assess the damage in the bathroom where the shower door is broken. Obviously, we never caused it. They already knew about it but did nothing for almost 2 years that we are here. It is only now that we really need them to act because we don’t need further damage that would be irreversible. Well, one other thing is the blinds that we have in the living room that is completely in contrast to the couches’ colour and with the rug. I guess roller blinds are better than drapes. They could go with anything.

There were questions about how cold this country is when we visited home.They were not aware that our girl is used to it, and asking about how we set of our room in our old house is just eminent. We do not have air-conditioned rooms and we as well do not have tap waters that run directly to the house. Instead we shared with many others. I have bought a water motor pump that is installed about 30 meters from the house. That was installed for business purposes and I guess it wasn’t doing well. I would have loved to set up one in the house, however, the electricity cost would be too much for my father.

The experienced that my daughter had in my parents house was once in a lifetime. She was free from thick jackets, she was as well bathing outside, at least soak there until she gives up. She as well likes going to the seaside and plays with her playmates non-stop. She doesn’t do those things here, and so I guess she would love to go back there any time soon. She doesn’t understand yet that was our holiday. And just this afternoon she asked me if we could go to a holiday. She watched a kid’s program where a family went out for a holiday and so I guess she thinks it would be as easy as watching it.

The quality of living here is far different from whatwe have there, only if we have money of course. We could do everything we want. Well,Im not complaining again for having such a good life.I am happy and lucky to have married my ever dearest hubby.
